The Salesian search engine www.donbosco.info has been enhanced

⏱️ Reading time: 2 min.

Following its launch on 31 January 2025 and presentation at General Chapter 29, the Salesian search engine www.donbosco.info has been further improved in its functionality and enriched with numerous new documents in various languages, exceeding the threshold of 10,000 searchable files.

The interface in Italian and English has been updated and made more intuitive. Given the high number of documents in Spanish, French, and Portuguese, the interface has also been translated into these languages. For all other languages, the English interface remains available.

The document presentation structure has been completely reorganised: thematic categories have been introduced to facilitate exploration and allow for quickly narrowing down searches when results are too numerous. The structure is the same for all languages, but categories only appear when documents are available in that section.

A special category, called “References”, has been added, which collects books used by Don Bosco and the Salesians in drafting their texts. Indicating and valuing the sources seemed to us an important contribution to research and study.

The periodical publications have been completed and enriched with new collections.

An information banner about the document from which the displayed page originates has been included on the results pages. The banner can be opened or closed with a simple click on the “i” (info) button.

The usage explanations in the “Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)” section have also been expanded and updated.

We also remind you of the possibility to consult the “Concordances” (at the bottom of the page) of the “Published Works”, “Biographical Memoirs”, and “Complete Works of Saint Francis de Sales”, in their original languages. Direct access to the searched word in its context also allows you to read the entire text in HTML format and download it.

With the hope that this service continues to be a tool for Salesian knowledge, memory, and in-depth study, we wish you happy searching and good reading!
