Examination of conscience on conformity to God’s will

1. Faith in God and in His love
– Do I have faith that God always wants my true good and that nothing happens without His permission?
– Do I doubt His love in difficult times, do I get discouraged, and do I think He has abandoned me?
2. Trust and surrender
– Do I truly entrust my life to God, even when everything is going wrong?
– Do I try to control everything; do I live in excessive anxiety, and am I too attached to my security (health, future, possessions)?
3. Acceptance and conformity to God’s will
– Do I accept what God allows—illnesses, trials, humiliations, disappointments—without rebelling or protesting?
– Do I truly want what God wants, in the way and at the time He acts, without adapting His will to my desires?
– Do I say “yes” to God even in difficult times?
– Do I refuse to take up the cross when it appears because I do not understand it?
4. Seeking God’s will
– Do I seek God’s will in prayer before making a decision? Do I ignore the signs and inspirations I receive?
– Do I live without questioning what God wants for my life?
5. Obedience and docility
– Do I obey the commandments, the Church, and those in authority over me?
– Do I interpret the faith in my own way or refuse obedience out of pride?
6. Detachment from self and from things
– Do I truly put God first, without making family, work, or anything else my “first love”?
– Do I know how to detach myself from what binds me too tightly?
– Do I live too concentrated on myself?
7. Purity of intention
– Do I do things for God or for myself, seeking to please Him more than men?
– Do I act out of pride, self-interest, or a search for approval?
– Do I let myself be guided by human respect?
8. Daily life and concrete conformity
– Do I accept the small daily annoyances with patience, without complaining or always seeking the easiest way?
– Do I ignore God’s will in the small things of everyday life?
– Do I live through difficult situations with patience?
9. Gratitude and inner peace
– Do I thank God for all that He gives me? Do I take everything for granted?
– Do I recognise the graces received in my life? Do I forget the benefits I have received?
– Can I say thank you even in difficulties? Do I complain instead of giving thanks?
– Do I live in peace of heart, without getting needlessly agitated or losing my serenity over small things?
– Do I remain calm in difficulties?
– Do I live restlessly and dissatisfied?
10. Love for God’s will
– Do I love God’s will or do I merely endure it by force?
– Do I try to unite my will with His, truly desiring what He desires?
